What a fantastic trip away we just had. We had a fabulous vacation down in Margret river, Western Australia. In Margaret river there are many beautiful places to choose to stay and it didn't take us long to decide that the Sunflowers Animal Farm would be the perfect place for our little family to enjoy a little trip away. Travelling with an almost 2 year old can be hard to find something to do to keep them entertained but this we didn't have to worry about as there was so much to do and to see at Sunflowers.
Sunflowers Farm is located about 6km out of Margaret river township on Caves road, so it is only a 10 minute drive into town if you need to stock up on the necessities, or have a nice meal out with friends (definitely check out Settlers tavern).

The farm is open to the public from 9am-5pm and for guests who choose to stay in one of the farms four self contained units you can access the animals at anytime. There are over 250 animals at Sunflowers who are all super friendly and look forward to a cuddle and some goodies from your feeding bucket that you can collect when you enter the animal farm.
The feed buckets are $3.00 for non staying guests and free for guests who are staying at the farm who will receive a bucket each morning and afternoon.
Some of the animals at the farm were Rabbits, Parrots, Sheep, lambs, Alpacas, Goats, Calfs, Horses, Ponies, Emus, Baby kangaroos, Ducks, Geese, sheep dogs and more!
At 10 am and 4pm guests will also have the opportunity to help bottle-feed the animals each day which is an experience both the children and adults will love.

For those who choose to stay over night or the course of there visit in Margaret river as mentioned before there are 4 self contained units to choose from they sleep between 6-9 guests. The unit we stayed in was the North unit was the largest and this unit will sleep 9. The unit has 2 bedrooms one with a queen bed and a single bed and the other bedroom has a Queensize bed, in the main lounge area there are also 2 bunk beds with the ability to sleep four more people.

We found the cabin to be clean and comfortable and very homely, with a log fire that gave a great sense of tranquillity as we looked outside into the meadows with grazing sheep. We also were provided with a high chair and Porta cot which freed up space in our car and was so much easier then taking our own.
We enjoyed the barbecue area as it overlooked the big play area that was safe for our toddler to run around in. Would be a good idea to cook your barbecue before it gets dark as there is no lighting.  We enjoyed our farm fresh egg and bacon barbecue breakfast each morning.
Pony rides, egg collecting and tractor rides are some more extra activities those who are staying on the farm can enjoy. If you would like to make a booking to stay at the Sunflowers farm you can visit there website for further information or any more questions you would like to have answered. http://www.sunflowersfarm.com/
